While the rest of the country is stocking up on pumpkins and planning Halloween costumes, Sikhs around the world are gearing up for festivities of a more spiritual nature. October of 2008 marks the 300th Year Anniversary commemorating Guru Gadee, the Inauguration of the Guru Granth the Sikh's sacred scripture. Annual Guru Gadee parades and celebrations have already begun and will continue through the first weekend of November.
