A very interesting and colorful character study.
Such a colorful character. Sitting against that fence, he gives himself a contrasting background.
Great image of the devotee.
The colors draw my attention to the photo, but now I’m wondering what’s drawing Nihang Singh’s attention.
Great capture. He seems perfectly aligned with the pole and bars of the fence in the background. I am curious about his gaze to the (stage) left – it seems like he is distracted by something?
Wonderful portrait, full of color and character.
Very interesting!
I brought with me an Anchor, please come and see!
This is a fabulous photo – love the colours!
A very interesting photo.
Great capture! Happy WW.

Truly gorgeous capture!
A picture that with a word tells a whole novel – I love it.
The colours and the expression on his face are amazing.
Thank you so much for your words about my art, they really warm my heart!
Have a nice day!

What a delightful journey you have taken me on….this wonderful photo beckoned me to find out more. Thank you, Sukhmandir!!
Great capture, and very interesting character too!
Nice portrait.
I loved learning about the Nihang Singh’s selfless devotion and life of service. What a wonderful tradition!
What great, important lessons you can learn from the Nihang. They are particularly important now that many of us are learning to do more with less. They are also timely lessons in light of the upcoming secular Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks for sharing.
great photo..
happy ww..
This is a wonderful shot!
That’s a fantastic portrait. Very well photographed.
Incredible photo! Happy WW!
What a great photo! Definitely deserving of a frame. I clicked through to read about the life style of a nihang. Very interesting.
Gorgeous photo! I’m assuming that this is one of the longer turbans sometimes worn for special occasions, in view of the other finery he is wearing.
great capture indeed! thanks for checkin out mine!
Great shot. Happy WW
Sat sri akaal ji. I’ve watched some vids on how 2 wear a turban. 4 some reason I can’t get it right! lol. with guru’s help mine one day will b as nice as his. nice pic.
Thank you for dropping by! I always enjoy your Wordless Wednesdays, as well; and today is no exception. I’ve learned so much for your wonderful photos. I love the colors and composition, and also the rich historical and spiritual heritage that this picture reflects.
Just curious, is it true that men never cut their hair in their lifetime?
Yes Napaboaniya devout Sikh whther male or female do not cut or otherwise alter their their hair their entire life from birth until death.
Khalil we all have our bad turban days
It just takes practice and is really helpful to have some one show you how in person. There are many different styles, but the main purpose of a turban is to protect the hair.
What a wonderful outfit! The colors. The jewelry. The free feet.
Yay! It’s Wednesday and I always look forward to see what interesting or beautiful or interesting (though usually all of those things) image you share.
I love the colours & characters of that side of the world…you’ve caught them both!
I always wondered why Sikhs wore turbans! Thanks for the information. I never knew that there’d be long hair under them.
He comes across as both serene and vibrant. This is an excellent photo.
