Armed thugs interrupted services Sunday 11:15 BST, April 25, 2010, when they robbed a gurdwara on the south side of Glowscow, UK.  The invasion carried out while worshipers were present, resulted in no injuries but netted the gunmen a "four-figures" cash getaway.

Suspects are described as:

  • Six foot tall, slim Black male with short dark hair, wearing black baseball cap, dark thigh-length jacket and dark pants.
  • Six foot tall, slim, Black male, mid 20's wearing black and white bandanna and dark waist-length jacket.
  • Five foot  three - five inches tall, stocky Asian male, early 20's wearing gray hooded jacket embellished with skull and crossbones on it's back, and black pants.

After grabbing cash from the gurdwara located on St Andrews Drive in Pollokshields, suspects fled on foot towards Shields Road and Maxwell Drive leaving stunned worshipers "shaken."  Strathclyde Police Detective Sargent Jim Leckie  urges anyone in the vicinity at the time of the incident or anyone having any information about the holdup to contact authorities.

Wow how awful – but how great that Guru Granth Sahib ji was safe and unaffected, at least according to the BBC article and your wrap-up of the incident. The money can be replaced! Wahe Guru…

Now that is despicable! So glad that people were unhurt. Makes you realize that anything but that is unimportant.
