Sweets delight the tongue, but usually one bite leads to another. Even when the belly is bursting, the taste buds, unfulfilled, demand more. Indulgence can lead to excess weight and health problems.

Guru Arjun, the fifth guru of Sikhism, tells of the one sweet which satiates the palate.

"Avar saad chakh saglae dekh-e man har ras sabh te meettaa jeeo||1||
I have seen and tasted all other flavors, but to my mind, the subtle essence of the Lord is the sweetest of all. ||1||

Jo jo peevai so tripataavai ||
Whoever drinks this in, is satisfied.

Amar hovai jo naam ras paavai||
Whoever obtains the sublime essence of the Name becomes immortal.

Naam nidhaan tiseh paraapat jis sabad guroo man vootaa jeeo||2||
The Treasure of Naam is obtained by one whose mind is filled with the word of the Guru's hymns." ||2|| SGGS||100

Contemplation cake combines the taste of chocolate, and coconut, with the satisfying sweetness of the Guru's hymns.

Dear Bhenji, As soon as I can get the ingrediants together, I simply must make this!

May I have your permission to make one change? I NEVER use white flour. May I use whole wheat pastry/baking flour? With the addition of about a teaspoon of baking powder, it should work. It won’t taste quite the same. It should still be really good.

Let me know how it turns out with WW flour. I imagine it would be quite tasty. You may have to adjust the liquid or reduce the flour.

Anytime coconut and chocolate is combined, my plans for healthy eating are forgotten! Looks great.
