I read a post from a Facebook friend saying, "Can someone please say something nice right now?"
I thought to myself, "Everything is good, well great actually, but I don't feel enthusiastic and just can't seem to think of anything to say". Hoping for inspiration I decided to read a random shabad (hymn) from Sikhi to the Max and see what Guru ji had to say that I might be able to share.
I received a shabad written by Fifth Guru Arjun Dev ji, Sikhism' first martyr who had more than his share of trouble. Despite his difficulties, he poured forth praises from his soul into his writings. His every word an affirmation of blessings illustrates the power that positive thinking has in influencing the spirits to rise.
Angeekaar keeaa prabh apanai bairee sagalae saadhae ||
God has made me his own, and has triumphed over all my adversaries.
Reading these words, I immediately perked up and thought of this illustration by Pammy Kapoor from Jessi Kaur's "The Royal Falcon".
I spent the rest of the day deeply focused on this shabad so that I might share Guru Arjun Dev's positive affirmation with you.
