The DVD 35 Akhar by Vismaad is an animated movie featuring the Gurmukhi alphabet. A young boy, Fateh Singh, has a series of adventures in which he and his companions repeat the Punjabi words and Gurmukhi letters of objects encountered accompanied by their starting letter. The Gurmukhi akhar, or alphabet, in Sikh scripture is identical to Punjabi alphabet featured in this animated film. For ages 3 and up, however, my granddaughter first watched this just prior to her second birthday and loved it. It's never too soon to expose little ones to learning!
