These cookies (or biscuits) are made without eggs. This quick and easy shortbread recipe requires only three simple ingredients and can be molded, or rolled and cut out with heart shaped cookie cutters. Prem Prashad heart shaped cookies can be served fresh from the oven, or decorated and iced. Serve for birthdays, weddings, or your favorite holiday.

Yield: About 33 - 2 inch hearts
- 1/4 cup powdered (confectioners) sugar.
- 1/2 cup butter (1 - 1/4 lb cube or stick).
- 1 to 1 1/3 cup unbleached ultra-grain all purpose flour.
Mix powdered sugar, butter, and flour together. Start with 1 cup flour and add four as needed and work with fingers to make a pliable dough. Roll out on a lightly floured surface. Cut out with heart shaped cookie cutter (or any desired cookie cutter shape), mold by hand, or use a cookie press. Place on a un-greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-11 minutes. Remove from oven as soon as edges of cookies begin to turn golden. Be careful not to over cook, as butter cookies darken very quickly. Serve fresh from oven or decorate as desired.
