This Lion Jack O Lantern is the artwork of Satmandir Kaur. In Sikhism the lion is a powerful symbol of courage. The Sikh word for lion is singh. Sikh men are often referred to as "Singhs" because of the mane like appearance of their unshorn hair and beards. All Sikh men have the suffix Singh as part of their name. Satmandir Kaur chose the face of a lion for her Sikhi Style Jack O Lantern. She chronicled the carving of her Lion Jack O Lantern with photographs which she has been kind enough to share.
