Cut plywood to size or purchase precut. Attach a leg bracket to each corner with wood screws. Cut the 2"x1/2" trim to form a side rail which will hold a cushioned pad in place and hide the brackets from view, about 1/4 reveal for the bottom and 1/2 for the top as allowed by the width of the trim.

If possible miter the corners. Apply glue and attach to edges with nails, or screws at corners. Space nails, or screws, about every 8 - 12 inches, using 4 along the sides, and 5 along both the front and back.

If it is not possible to miter ends, then cut two end pieces at 24 inches. Apply glue to the 24" edge of the plywood, and nail or screw the trim in place. Cut the trim for the front and rear edges so that it overlaps the side edges, approximately 36 1/2 inches. Be sure to use a tape to get an exact measurement.

If using nails, a nail set can be applied to embed the heads into the wood. For nice finish, apply a bit of wood putty, or caulk, and sand when dry.
