Cross Stitch as a Sikhism Craft

Cross stitch is a precise and therefore meditative form of stitchery used for creating samplers or decorative emblems. Cross stitching of Sikh symbols, emblems and slogans can be done on:

  • Clothing items
  • Flags and banners
  • Wall hangings
  • Altar cloths or ramalas
  • Decorative cushions etc.

Making Cross Stitch a Meditation

Cross stitch is an opportunity to focus on Waheguru. Recite Wahe with the first half of the stitch and Guru when completing the second half of the stitch either using the breath or mentally concentrating on the inner sound of Wahe Guru.
