Haiti Earthquake Victims Receive Relief From Jericho Sikh Aid Team

Jericho Beach is one of several Sikh Aid teams from around the world to serve 2010 earthquake victims in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Teams partner with United Sikhs a nonprofit, UN affiliated, international disaster relief organization based on the principle of seva. Founded in 2003, United Sikhs is supported by donations from the international Sikh community. Sikh Aid teams have been present at major disasters such as:

  • October 8, 2005 Kashmir Earthquake
  • May 27, 2006 Indonesian Earthquake
  • February 2, 2007 Florida Tornado

  • September 13, 2008 Hurricane Ike Texas
  • 2009 Pakistan, Internally Displaced People
  • January 12, 2010 - Haiti Earthquake
Sikh Aid teams volunteers include doctors. Relief services provide food, survival kits, temporary shelter, and medical supplies. Guru Nanak Gurdwara of Surrey, BC collected $500K to sponsor the Jericho team mission to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
