Have You Worn a Turban in the Classroom?
I am a 23 year old American Sikh. I wore a turban all through my school years, from the first day of kindergarten to my last day of my senior year.
Have You Experienced Acceptance or Adversity at School?
I experienced a lot of both acceptance and adversity when I was going to school, the ignorant people where always rude and would say hateful things, although they didn't make up the majority. Most of the people I knew back then where pretty cool with me.
Lessons Learned
- Being different isn't a bad thing, you just have to have confidence in your self.
Has it Been Easy or Difficult Making Friends?
Easy for the most part, most people I know dig the turban.
Are Different Languages Spoken at Home and in School?
Yeah, English at home and Splanglish at school.
Have You Ever Been Bullied at School?
Eh, a little bit but not too much.
What Do You Like Best About School?
I hate school.
