This year Sikhs celebrated the 30th Yuba City Annual Sikh Parade. The parade goes on rain or shine. Some years November rain can leave big puddles. No one really seems to mind, but parking does get a bit sticky when 100,000 people show up to take part in the parade festivities.
Very colorful!
Thanks for sharing this.
Interesting. I have heard that Yuba City has a large population of Punjabi heritage (including but not limited to Sikhs).
I agree with Indrani, very colorful photo. I’m curious about that tree branch that is looming over the crowd. Any clue what type of tree that is?
Nice shot. I love the vibrant colours. Perfect for a celebration
What wonderfully colorful and sumptuous outfits the women are wearing. They must feel wonderful against the skin, too.
I love these women costumes ! I have a friend who is married to an Indian and she used to wear them at the beginning of their marriage, but 40 years later she doesn’t do it anymore. These fabrics are so beautiful !
Wow… look at the massive amount of people!
And the colors of their clothings… nice ^_^.
P/S: I finally found out where the blog for your site is >_.<
As always, Sikhs outdo everyone else in the colorful department. The parade looks like a fun event.
what an interesting parade and the outfits are beautiful indeed.
Stunning as always, Sukhmandir. I love the colours, the clouds, the puddle and its relfection.
